~The Midnight Wind~

I stood in awe,
At the sight I saw.
The beautiful maiden,
As the clock struck ten.

She was gazing at the moon.
Whistling a familiar tune.
By the time the Clock struck eleven,
She had whistled seven.

I stared for an hour.
Stared right at the Flower.
Her hair flowed in the midnight wind.
I wish I hadn't been downwind.

I thought an angel came down,
As crazy as it sounds.
I went over,
Completely sober.

I witnessed her crying face,
And my heart began to race.
"Miss, are you alright?"
I asked, with a bit of fright.

"I cannot sleep,
And my boyfriend left pain in a heap."
She cried in front of me.
What else to do but give her sympathy?

We embraced.
Strangers as we were,
But I saw her smiling face.
So, it was worth meeting her.
